Here are some helpful suggestions to make your float shine and capture the spirit of Mardi Gras:

• Go big! Create large, eye-catching props that grab attention from a distance.
• Glitter is your best friend. Add tons of sparkle—more is always better!
• Make it work! Once it’s on, leave it. Own your design and trust the process.
• Step back and admire. View your float from about 12 feet away and squint—it’ll look amazing from the judges’ perspective.
• BRIGHT is right! Use bold, vibrant colors to bring your float to life.
• Add dimension. Use spray paint accents around the edges to create depth and a polished look.
• Get moving! Choose costumes that allow for movement to maximize the “wow” factor.
• Be the show! Focus on entertainment—think “show,” not just “throw.” Consider how your group can dazzle the audience with energy and creativity.
• Have a blast! If you’re having fun, the audience will feel it too. Your excitement is contagious!
